2010 handmade christmas - dad

This is the quilt I made for dad. I wanted it to be masculine, but not boring. I hope that he likes the print I chose. I made this with the help of my online quilting bee Bee Addicted 3. Thanks to everyone who made blocks, it really helped get this quilt done.

The back is just a bunch of scraps from the front sewn into one long strip for some interest. I just did straight line quilting 1/4" on either side of the seams. I really like how it turned out, I hope dad does too!

2010 handmade christmas - nieces & nephews

For all the nieces, nephews and also for Grace and Jack, I made these little travel mats. For Maddox/Jack I made it with robot fabric and little figures from the movie Robots.

For Griffin/Jack I used a cute town fabric with roads and some mini cars.

The mat folds up and everything fits into the bags for easy clean-up. I also had in mind that these would be good to take to restaurants or church to keep the kids occupied.

2010 handmade christmas - mom

A lap quilt originally designed to go on Mom's new yellow couch. Well, she decided to go another way in her front room, so now she can use the quilt wherever she wants. I used the free pattern from Oh, Fransson! The fabric is Meadow Sweet by Sandi Henderson. I really like how this quilt turned out.

A tablerunner made with vintage sheets. It is designed to fit Mom's very long table and hang over a bit on the ends. I just pieced it together improv-style. It is also backed with various vintage sheets.

One last finish for me!

This is a monumental finish for me. I actually pieced this top 15 years ago! It is definitely not my current style, and I have definitely learned a few things about matching seams and other details along the way. I don't know why it has taken me so long to get it finished, but I am so glad I did. It will be a nice addition to bring out every year at Christmas time.

and.....i'm done

This is the final batch of quilts for Kimber. Remind me next year that if you want 8 quilts by Christmas, I need more time than October! I think I must have been crazy to say yes! I am so glad these are done and in the mail, I hope you love them all!
