rebecca's baby shower

My 3rd sister is having her first baby so I wanted to throw a baby shower for her. I convinced my mom that it had to be at her newly remodeled home and got busy planning. I decided that a vintage baby theme would be fun.

I made a couple of banners out of my vintage sheet stash and ordered some cute alphabet cards from this shop and made them into a banner as well.

I got the idea for these little sandwich toppers from this amazing website and just punched them out with a flower punch and backed them with coordinating papers.

With the extra flowers I sewed straight through them and hung them from a light fixture in the kitchen.

I also collected bunches of vintage little golden books and used them as background decoration on the food table. You can see more pics from the shower at my mom's blog here.

february bloggers pillow party

I made a few practice blocks before I made the love place mats and decided that I didn't like these colors for my mom. But, I thought they would make a cute little pillow for Valentine's Day.

I used scraps from a bunch of projects for the front and back. I really love the patchwork on the backside. Both the front and back are quilted and I added a zipper to the bottom. It is small, only 12", but it does the job!

I am entering this in the Blogger's Pillow Party over at Stitched in Color for February.

This is the latest block for the Birdie Stitches Block of the Month. I think these little birdies are just adorable! I can't wait to see what she has in store next month!

february bee vintage

For the month of February in my Bee Vintage group, Heather asked for dresden blocks. These are the first dresden plate blocks that I have done, and I am happy to say that they are easier than I had thought. I don't know if I could do a whole quilt, but I definitely plan on a couple of pillow covers!

shop update

I have a huge stash of vintage sheets, so I have decided to put some up for sale in my etsy shop. I have only listed a few to start, we'll see how it goes.
