new clutches in shop

I am really excited about these two new styles of clutch that I have added to my shop. The first is half of a dresden plate made of vintage sheets on a khaki canvas fabric. It also has a cute, removable wristlet.

The next one has a big bow of vintage sheets on the same khaki background with an attached wristlet. I used the bow clutch pattern from Whitney Newby of elm street life

vintage sheet lap quilt

I just finished another vintage sheet quilt for my little etsy shop. I really love how soft and cuddly it is. I have also been playing around with my photos with PicMonkey. As you can see I have been having fun experimenting with various styles. It is going to take a while to figure it out, but I think I am going to like using PicMonkey for editing my photos.

a trio of toddler quilts

I just finished a trio of cute baby quilts. They are the same style as the quilt I made here. I have actually made 5 of these quilts for a great customer of mine. I love the mix of fabrics in them, it is a great chance to use all my favorites in one quilt. I just quilt some straight lines about 6 inches apart and it makes a really soft, drapey quilt.

I am always happy to make custom order quilts for customers, feel free to contact me anytime on the blog or over at my etsy shop.

trio of patriotic pillows

I just added a trio of fun, patriotic pillow covers. They are a combination of vintage and modern fabrics. The first one is made up of half-square triangles in an offset pattern.

The other two are just a simple patchwork with cross-hatch quilting.

These are all available in my etsy shop now.

guest posting

I am excited today, because I am doing my first ever guest post on one of my favorite blogs - the Vintage Sheet Blog. I wrote up a tutorial on choosing the perfect vintage sheets for a project. Check it out here.

do.Good Stitches - February 2012

My month for the charity quilting bee do.Good Stitches - Trust Circle was February. I asked the other quilters to contribute 2 wonky star blocks made with pink, yellow and orange with blue and green accents. They all came up with some great blocks and I really love how the quilt turned out. It is going to be sent to an organization called My Very Own Blanket. They distribute donated quilts and blankets to kids who are in foster care to help them feel valued and comforted. I am sure this quilt will bring a smile to a girl's face :)

I used a thrifted sheet for the backing and quilted and all over swirly pattern. Then I hand sewed a label to the back, so the recipient would know who the quilt came from.
