...and a blue set

I also made a great blue set that I totally love. The backing on this one is so fabulous, I just love it!
For the quilting on this one, I just did some straight line stitching on either side of the blocks across the quilt. It is just enough quilting to hold the batting and makes a really drapey quilt.

The pillow cover is a great mix of vintage sheets and modern fabrics. It is backed with a funky purple and blue floral and has a hidden zipper enclosure.

a yellow set...

I had so much fun making this sunny set. They are both available separately in my shop, but I think they would look so great together in a little girl's bedroom.
The pillow cover has yellow ric rack around the edge and a hidden zipper closure.

The sashing is actually a tiny, square, yellow polka dot on white. I think it adds just enough interest without overpowering the great floral and geometric prints in the squares. I quilted it with swirls across the quilt.
The yellow gingham on the back is soooo soft and cuddly.

may bee blocks

Yay! I finished my bee blocks before the end of the month! The first one is for Jenny of oh, jenny mae in the Bee Vintage quilting bee. She requested "stacks" of any kind in a 15.5" block. I can't wait to see the finished quilt with all the different blocks together.
Next up is the circle of geese for Sheetal (sewshedid). Also part of the Bee Vintage bee, she was a part of the first round of this bee and requested more of the same blocks. Her colors of choice are yellow and oranges. Here is the first block I did for her last round.
The next two blocks are for the Trust circle of the do.Good Stitches bee. Amber requested flying geese in any pattern in navy, white, light to medium gray and orange. After seeing what the other members of the group have done, I am really excited to see what this quilt looks like.

oh, baby!

Recently, my sister's mother-in-law contacted me about making a baby boy quilt for a friend of hers. It started out great, I had a lot of the fabrics already on hand and the pattern was an easy one to work with.

It all went wrong once it was finished, though. I threw it in the wash with a color catcher because I was worried about the red fabrics. But, it was a blue one that caused havoc. It bled EVERYWHERE! I rewashed and scrubbed that quilt 3 times and nothing helped. So I made another one, minus the offending fabric and this one turned out great! I just did some straight line quilting across the whole quilt.

Not all is lost with the first quilt, the kids now have a new quilt to drag around.

lovely Arizona

I have lived in Arizona for a few years now, and I have to say that I really love it more than I expected. The hot, hot summers are really not as bad as I imagined and I definitely do not miss shoveling snow in the winter. This treasury was inspired by the beautiful colors and scenery of my new home.
